Past Beers for Good Events:
All of our proceeds go to benefit local charities! No one with Beers For Good is paid - everyone is a volunteer, and all profits go to charity. We have sponsored several events in the past, including the following, in chronological order - most recent first:
- Our 14th Nashua River Brewers Festival was held June 28, 2024, with occasional rain and lots of good beers.
- Our 13th Nashua River Brewers Festival on June 24, 2023 featured spotty weather, good times, and more breweries than ever before!
- Our 12th Nashua River Brewers Festival on June 25, 2022 featured beautiful weather, two tents, and a lot of good beers.
- Crushing pandemic-associated disappointment accompanied by private drinking - 2020 and 2021
- Food Pantry Fundraiser - December, 2020
- Eleventh Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 29, 2019
- Coggshall Park Winterfest - February 2, 2019
- Tenth Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 30, 2018
Our first year with River Styx Brewing, and our largest assemblage of Massachusetts' small craft breweries. Lots of Ska music, and our first kombucha.
- Coggshall Park Winterfest - February 10, 2018
- Ninth Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 24, 2017
Another successful brewers festival at Riverfront Park. Zack Slick, Keith McLinden Project, FBGM and Angry Johnny and the Killbillies entertained the crowd. Proceeds benefit Veterans Hospice Homestead, Fitchburg Rides Bicycle Raffle, and Fitchburg Civic Days.
- Our Third (the city's fourth) Coggshall Park Winterfest - February 18, 2017 Members of BFG helped the city with their annual winterfest at Coggshall Park, serving three scrumptious beers and hot mulled wine.
- Eighth Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 26, 2016 Yet another successful brewers festival at Riverfront Park in Fitchburg. Repeat musical artists Zack Slick, Angry Johnny and New Pond Fondle, along with the Spy Tones surf rock band. All proceeds went to benefit Fitchburg Civic Days this year.
- The 2016 Winterfest at Coggshall Park
Not much in the way of winter weather, except for being very cold on the porch. And Governor Charlie Baker showed up to say hello!
- Oktoburgfest at the Fitchburg Armory - September 19, 2015
Beers For Good members volunteered to help the Friends of the Fitchburg Senior Center at their first annual Oktoburgfest, with a tent on Grove Street, a German-themed band, and tasty Wachusett Beers!
- Seventh Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 28, 2015
Another successful brewers festival at Riverfront Park in Fitchburg. Zack Slick, Elemental, Half Sour, and Sun Parade played live, and proceeds benefitted Growing Places Garden Project, LUK, and Fitchburg Civic Days.
- Second Annual Winterfest at Coggshall Park - January 31, 2015
Beers For Good helped the city with their Winterfest at Coggshall Park on a very, very cold and windy afternoon and evening. But we came prepared with layers of clothing and excellent beers!
- The sixth Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 28, 2014
The sixth festival featured nice weather, even more brewers and cider-makers, and kick-ass music featuring The Save-Ends, Shepherdess, The Bynars and Zack Slick. We gave money to the Gardner Visiting Nurses for a Fitchburg food pantry, the Fitchburg Public Library for a homework center, and a Fitchburg High School Reading Program.
- Best One Yet! The Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 29, 2013
The fifth festival featured sunny and warm weather, a record number of brewers and cider-makers, and a music lineup that featured surf guitar music for the first time. This year we raised money for a permanent stage for Riverfront Park and for Fitchburg Civic Days. At this writing (January, 2024), money has been granted to the city for a permanent performance platform for Riverfront Park. Thank you for helping to make this happen!
- Back in action! The Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 30, 2012
After taking a year off due to a number of unfortunate and unforeseen situations in 2011, the gang roared back with a fantastic fourth festival that kicked off Fitchburg Civic Days. Both Angry Johnny and The Allstonians were brought back as dual musical headliners, and several new breweries were welcomed into the Beers For Good fold to raise money for the Montachusett Opportunity Council's Meals on Wheels program, the Cleghorn Neighborhood Center's food pantry, and Fitchburg Civic Days.
- Nashua River Brewers Festival - September 18, 2010
Our third Brewers Festival was the first event in the newly renovated Riverfront Park, with direct access to the Nashua River. Proceeds went to buy books and other media for the Fitchburg Public Library, to Fitchburg Civic Days, and to the Riverfront Park Foundation. Over 1,300 people had a great time at our largest event to date!
- The second Nashua River Brewers Festival - June 27, 2009
Our second Brewers Festival featured two tents and fantastic music. All proceeds went to benefit The Fitchburg Public Library and Fitchburg Civic Days.
- Beatles Tribute Band - February 7, 2009
Beers For Good assisted with this benefit for the Fitchburg Senior Center, which featured tasty fresh draft beers and the Beatles tribute band Beatles For Sale. The link for this event displays the historic poster created by Fuzzburg Industries, our own Jordan Murphy
- Brew Year's Eve - December 31, 2008
We had grand plans for our second event of the year, but an ice storm ravaged the entire region, knocking out power for weeks, which required the use of the Armory for an emergency shelter for hundreds of displaced residents. But the shelter closed just before the event, and volunteers cleaned the hall so the show could go on. We cancelled our expensive band, cut the price to $5, and Johnny Girouard and Friends donated music for the event. All the profits from Brew Years Eve 2008 (over $1,700) went to purchase books for the Fitchburg Public Library.
- The first Nashua River Brewers Festival - Saturday June 28, 2008
Our very first event! All proceeds from the 2008 Nashua River Brewers Festival were donated to Fitchburg Civic Days. This event began the tradition of Beers For Good partnering with the City of Fitchburg and Fitchburg Civic Days (Fitchburg's 4th of July festivities), a tradition that continues to this day!
